The Sweetest Lie

Explore the poetic journey of ‘The Sweetest Lie’, an original masterpiece written and composed by Abu Sayed.

A whisper falling soft across the room
We’re dancing in the shadows of the moon
Your secret’s safe behind a closing door
I always leave you wanting something more
The firelight is painting up your face
I pull you close and memorize the space
Between the truth and everything we hide
It’s dangerous, but heaven’s on our side
I feel the fever burning in my chest
Of all the games we play, I love this best
A stolen moment fading out of sight
So tell me that you’re only mine tonight
Oh, you’re the sweetest lie I ever told
A midnight memory I want to hold
I’m drowning in the honey of your eyes
Believing in the sweetest of your lies
Oh, you’re the sweetest lie, the sweetest lie
Sweetest lie, sweetest lie
A heavy rain is falling on the glass
I’m praying that the ticking hours pass
Much slower when you’re tangled up with me
A secret lock, and I’m the only key
I feel the fever burning in my chest
Of all the games we play, I love this best
A stolen moment fading out of sight
So tell me that you’re only mine tonight
Oh, you’re the sweetest lie I ever told
A midnight memory I want to hold
I’m drowning in the honey of your eyes
Believing in the sweetest of your lies
Oh, you’re the sweetest lie, the sweetest lie
Sweetest lie, sweetest lie
Oh, you’re the sweetest lie I ever told
A midnight memory I want to hold
I know the world is waiting out of view
But I am only focused here on you
I’m yours tonight, Sayed is yours to keep
So close your eyes and fall into the deep
Just close your eyes and let the silence speak
I am never letting go
Oh, you’re the sweetest lie I ever told
A midnight memory I want to hold
I’m drowning in the honey of your eyes
Believing in the sweetest of your lies
