Barefoot summer, hearts skipping a beat.
Running from class to the college ground,
That’s where my wild heart was found.
Alley was a stadium, we made our own rules,
Me and Rifat, skipping school.
Mahin, Atik, Polash, Rafi, raising hell,
Jim, Ashik, Diponkor, Sadaf, we jived so well.
Mischief in the back row, laughter in the air,
Passing notes and nicknames, we didn’t have a care.
Short songs I’d make up, sing ’em through the hall,
Felt like a rebel, standing ten feet tall.
This is the childhood of mine, where the memories play,
Like a country song on a Dhaka day.
Through the heartache and the sunlight, I still find
The boy I was, left no dream behind.

The seed that I would sow.
